How I work

As your personal life coach, I will work with you to achieve the changes that you desire.

My assistance will involve helping you to identify alternatives, to examine different perspectives, to creatively problem-solve, to generate new solutions, and to experience more possibilities. While you can count on me to be encouraging and supportive, my role also will involve holding you accountable and keeping you focused on your goals.

Your sessions provide a space where the focus is fully on you, your life, your dreams, your goals, your struggles, your concerns. You will find that I am an attentive sounding board; someone who will listen without judgment, ask the right questions and help you clarify your thoughts and desires.

While the specifics will be tailored to meet your individual needs, a typical coaching relationship involves weekly meetings in person, by telephone, or chat messenger. I offer reduced rates for first sessions, as these are an opportunity for each of us to evaluate whether working together feels right.

What you can expect

While much of our work together will be focused on achieving specific goals, coaching will also impact your overall sense of well-being. Some of the results you can expect are:

  •    Increased self-confidence
  •    Less stress and anxiety
  •   Clearer understanding of your values, needs, strengths, &       limitations
  •   Greater sense of choice and control
  •   More excitement about change and less fear of risk
  •   Greater alignment of who you are with how you live and what you do
  •   More authenticity and connectedness in your relationships
  •   Attainment of goals that have been elusive

Appointments

I believe that each person has his or her own "best rhythm" for receiving personal help. Some people are able to benefit most from counseling that occurs on a regular basis, whereas others get more out of it when they are able to schedule it on an "as needed basis".  Some individuals seem to need the typical "50 minute hour" whereas others get the most out of talking for as long "as feels right".

My practice is geared to accommodating these different needs. Giving clients the possibility of online (chat), telephone, or face-to-face sessions (in Providence, Rhode Island ), allows me to better suit such varying preferences for meeting times, lengths, and frequencies. As I have integrated "distance counseling" into my practice, I have come to find that chat or telephone meetings sometimes offer advantages over in-person meetings. Even if you are local to the Providence area, I would encourage you to consider these "distance modes" if face to face meetings seem impractical or intimidating.
